This year was not at all easy. It was my own fault - the ewes came in too poor and I had kept five F year sheep that were too old. I used three rams bred by myself (I'm able to do this having used so many different rams over the past twelve years) and the biggest and possibly best lambs were all from a ram with a Viagro sire.
I ended up with 21 lambs from 17 ewes, which is fair enough. Doubles far too small and weedy as of now (mid March). Interestingly, nearly all the ewes lambed well before day 147 which I've never had before.
I am concentrating on getting good heads as well as good confirmation. As yet it is too early to tell how successful I have been.
